STEP 1. SUBMITTING A MANUSCRIPT
Papers reporting original research conducted on aquatic mammals will be considered for publication by the Editors, Editorial Board, and appropriate reviewers based on scientific merit. Papers should not be concurrently submitted to another journal nor previously published, either wholly or in part.
Manuscript Submission Packets should contain:
Cover letter
CD or floppy disk of manuscript
OR
Manuscripts may be submitted by e-mail to aquaticmammals@gmail.com
Please closely follow our Instructions to Authors to match formatting requirements. A properly formatted manuscript is likely to be reviewed more quickly than one that is not. You may also download this sample article for use in formatting your manuscript. Manuscripts will be assigned a reference number (J2008-000; K2008-000), which will be sent to corresponding authors. It is the responsibility of the author to notify Aquatic Mammals of address changes. Please note our policy on plagiarism before submission of all manuscripts.
Is English not your first language? Aquatic Mammals recommends using a consulting service prior to submission of your manuscript to assist in properly communicating your results. www.dotmoth.co.uk provides such a service.

STEP 2. REVISING A MANUSCRIPT
Each manuscript will be reviewed by two external reviewers and an Editor. If there is disagreement between reviewers, the manuscript will be submitted to a third external reviewer. Detailed revision requests will be sent to corresponding authors by E-mail, fax or mail. Authors from outside United States are highly encouraged to keep Aquatic Mammals abridged on changes in E-mail and fax information. Sending our revisions electronically saves paper and time.
To mark changes: (do not make changes directly into a .pdf or Microsoft Word file)
1) Mark changes onto a hard copy of the .pdf and fax to the Editor OR
2) Summarize changes to the manuscript by page, paragraph number, and line number and send to the Editor by E-mail.
STEP 3. MANUSCRIPT PUBLICATION
Final gallery proofs will be faxed or E-mailed to the first author or corresponding author. These should be corrected without delay and corrections returned to the Editor by fax or E-mail. Mail changes on hard copy, do not make changes into a .PDF.
Authors will receive a .PDF of their published article for their free use in creating reprints. Reprints of a whole issue (30 USD) or a CD of the whole volume (18 USD) are available as additional purchases. These charges do not include shipping.
